So the joke goes:
Q: What's the difference between a nightmare and a daymare?
A: You wake up from a nightmare.
Remember President Obama touting how European nations are "making real investments in renewable energy" and "surging ahead of us, poised to take the lead in these new industries"? In one State of the Union address, the President even challenged Congress to fast track his so-called "green agenda."
Well, guess what? The Daily Caller is reporting that Germany and Spain have been forced to backtrack on their green agendas due to skyrocketing energy costs and looming blackouts.
The fact: By 2020, the European Union must generate 20% of its power
from renewable sources to stem global warming. Since 2008,
Eurostat reports that electricity prices in Europe have risen ~20%.
If the experience of nations like Germany and Spain are normative, Americans can expect to experience a daymare--one negatively impacting their pocketbooks--based upon President Obama's idealistic vision of "green."
