Well, guess what?
Research confirms that ethanol harms the environment:
- Those who worship at the alter of environmentalism alleged that cellulosic ethanol--created from corn leftovers--was a more environmentally-friendly biofuel. The fact: Most green biofuels release more greenhouse gases than traditional fuels do. Ethanol releases 7% more greenhouse gases than traditional fuels in the short-term.
- Those who worship at the altar of environmentalism alleged that increased use of ethanol would cause a decrease in ozone levels. However, drivers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, have increased the use of ethanol. The fact: Ozone levels increased.
Research also confirms that ethanol contributes to global hunger:
- Food prices have risen across the globe as corn has shifted from a food source to an energy source. The outcome? The available food supply has been reduced. According to the World Bank, a 1% increase in food prices leads to a 0.5% decrease in calorie consumption among the poor. Between 20% and 40% of the 2007-2008 spike in world food prices was due to increased use of biofuels.
- One 25-gallon tank of ethanol requires 450 pounds of corn. That's the same amount of calories it would take to feed one person for an entire year.
Reflecting upon these outcomes, the Senior Editor at Reason Magazine, Peter Suderman, calls the nation's ethanol mandate "a complete disaster."
When are people going to wake up to the scam being perpetrated by those who worship at the altar of environmentalism? Based upon the outcomes resulting from following ethanol/biofuel dogma, it's clear they care neither about the environment nor for starving people. They care only about their sacred ideology irrespective of its impacts.
Let the discussion begin...
