Watch as the host, Brian Stelter, "Trumpets" the mainstream media's growing fear that Donald Trump is "eroding trust" in their "Fourth Estate":
Stelter is a poster boy and object lesson "Trumpeting" why trust in the Fourth Estate is eroding: For credentialed members of the press, touting propaganda and spewing one side's talking points isn't guaranteed by "freedom of the press." Quite aptly, Stelter's degree is in "Mass Communication" from Towson University... perfect for his role as one of CNN's "Meisters of Propaganda."
So here's The Motley Monk's irony of the day: A political spin meistress is doing the homework that the mainstream media isn't doing because its members are too busy playing the role of political spin meister while masquerading as reporters.
On one count, Stelter is correct: Ideologues--not just on the political left (that's Stelter's concern) but on both sides of the political debate (that's The Motley Monk's concern)--do have something to fear. More and more non-reporters are doing their homework, confronting the pseudo-reporter ideologues in the media, and exposing the truth in the full light of day.
Like Donald Trump or not, it does not matter. The Motley Monk would observe that The Donald and his team are doing more than any other Democrat, Republican, liberal, or conservative has to date to promote the people's interests when ideologues hijack freedom of the press.
Let the discussion begin...
