In one ad, a daughter exclaims, “Daddy’s gas could kill us all!” Another ad focuses upon the effects flatulating has upon infants. Then, there’s this “couple’s movie night” ad:
But, the ads play on the fact that human flatulence contains hydrogen sulfide.
But, guess what? New research indicates that holding flatulence “in” can be dangerous to one’s health.
The Mirror reports that researchers at Exeter University have concluded that flatulating is healthy…even for those in the immediate area of a slightly less-than-toxic but noxious release.
Why? When an individual flatulates, the small amount of hydrogen sulfide introduced into the environment can help prevent cancer, dementia, stroke, and even heart attacks!
According to one of the researchers, Matt Whiteman:
We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the disease.
It may not be long before it’s possible to produce medications containing hydrogen sulfide. In the meantime, stay healthy not only by not holding flatulence in but also for those around you…well…er…um…this new information certainly provides a new meaning for “Here’s to your health!”
Let the discussion begin...
