So what? Who cares that the federal government now requires that “same standards shall apply to all public schools and public school students in the state…and include the same knowledge, skills, and levels of achievement expected of all public school students in the State.”
So what? Who cares that the federal government doesn’t define whether higher education means community college or four-year university and, by so doing, compels the states to accommodate every student which, in turn, means aiming for the lowest level of achievement and leaving high-achieving students behind.
So what? Who cares that the federal government now controls the content of achievement tests, including both academic and psychosocial questions, or that during testing which is required of a minimum of 95% of all students, computers will conduct psychological profiling by collecting personal information including student attitudes, behavior, and mindset.
So what? Who cares that this is all about the so-called “Common Core” one purpose of which is to change the beliefs, values, worldviews, and behavior of students so they will not hold beliefs, values, worldviews or engage in behavior the federal government defines as inappropriate or unacceptable for a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural society, like Europe.
Thank you very much, Majority Leader McConnell Speaker Ryan for protecting the primary parental right to educate their children! That's one helluva an accomplishment!
As Joseph de Maistre observed in his diplomatic correspondence: “Toute nation a le gouvernement qu'elle mérite” (that is, “the people of every nation get the government they deserve”).
