With the Minnesota high school Class 3-A 120-lb. state wresting championship title on the line, Mitchell McKee and Malik Stewart faced off on the mat.
The match didn't last long...a little more than 1 minute.
Losing is no fun, but losing a state championship match isn't any fun. Hearing "nice job" provides absolutely zero consolation.
So, it's pretty easy to imagine what was running through the loser's mind.
While it'd be entirely understandable for Stewart to head directly from the floor to the locker room, this "loser" ended up being a big-time "winner":
It ends up that the second-place "loser" in a state wrestling championshipo match is a first-place "winner" in life. The memory of the former has already faded, but his inspiration is immortal...which is why this story is about Malik Stewart.
Stewart demonstrated in March 2014 that he is somebody!
